Thus far the only suggestion to add to my list has been Milk - not quite what I had in mind, so anyone suggestions? I've got a week to get this present sorted and done, help!
A friend of mine is moving into his first house (of the non-rented variety) two weeks on Friday and as something slightly different house-warming gift based I decided I'd stock him up with all the random condiments and culinary cook-pot odds and ends that are needed. I know from moving myself that it's bloody annoying when you go to, for example, get some vinegar to put on your chips and go "arrrgh !"^$*$!&^£" because it's one of the many odds and ends you've yet to purchase. So, here's the list thus far... Any staple items I've missed?
- Rock salt
- Black peppercorns
- Dried chilli flakes
- Thyme
- Rosemary
- Chilli powder
- Malt vinegar
- Soy sauce
- Balsamic vinegar
- Vegetable oil
- Olive oil
- Cumin
- Tumeric
- Worcestershire sauce
- Oxo cubes (beef)
A couple of other things that aren't staples but will make moving-in day easier, especially if I get roped in! ;-)
- Coffee
- Sugar
- Tea bags
